A MAZE. / Johannesburg is an annual evolving platform for african and international playful media artists. Also a playground for everyone who wants to experience the magic of the Human-Human-Machine interaction.

A MAZE. provides an intensive 3-day program with talks, workshops, panels, hypertalks, screenings, artistic games, VR experiences, playful installations, concerts, av performances and party in the heart of Johannesburg, Braamfontein.

Since A MAZE. is the first festival of that kind in Africa we have the responsibility to create a platform that grows from inside to secure the longterm goals like a national funding systems, more and effective international collaborations between universities, institutions, cultural agencies, studios and creatives

This is how I VJ (+ generative art micro-jam show-and-tell) LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

This "workshop" is really a talk and a genreative art micro-jam mixed into one session:

The talk is basically about my short time as a VJ. For 3 or so weeks I went around conferences in the EU, VJing with an interactive demo that somewhat resembles "art", played next to the heros I didn't know I had, and generally reveled in the fact so many of us live with everyday when creating: "I have no idea what I am doing". I generally stumbled uphill, feeling blind and disoriented, but managed to make something cool in the end. I'll also show the cool thing I made, of course.

The talking bit will be like 30 mins, we can all also chat about not knowing what we are doing and reassure each other that no one really minds. And after that there is a bunch of time where we can mess around with generative art programs! Please bring any generative art experiments you've made! No matter how small! (not required to bring anything if you don't have :) ) We'll share our info and knowledge and colours and shapes <3
